In celebration of 'Black History 2016' Wicked Wednesday in TheBasement. The Life & Motivation of Lawrence 'Larry' Watson, as he celebrates thirty years of performing throughout the New England areas and around the world. Watson spent last Christmas in Asia delivering his own special brand of holiday music to the people of Singapore and Malaysia. On a return engagement to Asia he visited Shanghai China, where he wowed the Chinese people as lead male vocalist in a concert entitled ?The American Songbook.? Watson a soulful messenger—a modern-day Paul Robeson is currently a Professor of Ensembles in the Performance Division at Berklee College of Music. He has been a member of the Voice Department since 1994 and is the Resident Artist at the Charles Hamilton Houston Institute for Race and Justice at the Harvard Law School. His two CD ‘s ?The Journey,? and ?American Fruit with African Roots? are available on line. Founder, President and Artistic Director of SaveOurSelves Productions and Consulting, Watson remains committed to the preservation and performance of African descent musical expression. The Motto of the company - 'If we don't SaveOurSelves no one else will.' Watson is currently a Professor at Berklee College of Music. He teaches the Colleges official Motown Ensemble,courses in Stage Performance Technique,the required The History,Culture and Music of African Americans,Foundations of Singing with Soul, private voice instruction and a series of directed studies on Jazz,Blues,Rhythm Music, Soul,Contemporary pop,Black Arts songs and American Gospel Music.'
